Miscellaneous Information
Joseph was born on 12 September 1915 at Montreal, Quebec. His father, a Commercial Traveller, was born in Dundalk, Ontario and his mother in Martintown, Ontario. The schools he attended were in Lachine during 1923-1933. The first seven years in Lachine Junior and then three years in the High School. In 1933 he took a course in Commercial Art at Barnes School of Art and then at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, 1933-1935 in Art and Decoration. He worked as a photographic artist between 1936-1940 including work for Associated and Screen News. The sports he indulged in were golf, skiing, hunting and trap and duck shooting. His hobby photography. |
Joseph enlisted on 28 June 1940 and after training embarked for the U.K. He arrived at 3PRC on 26 December 1941 then went on to 1 Signal School 20 January 1942, 19 OTU on 24 March 1942 and 61 OTU 17 June 1942. Joseph sadly lost his life from 61 Squadron on 25 August 1942. |
